A Waukesha Carnival 8/27/2007

UPDATE: In an oversight due to reading blog posts from a reader and not the blog itself, we missed Yorick’s Persiflage who speculates on dating his professors. It doesn’t do much for him which makes me think it works better when the student is female and the professor is male.

A little late this week, but these are the posts by Waukesha county bloggers that made me think from the past week:

Tim, from The Other Side of My Mouth, gave a well-reasoned argument for smoking bans (as well as other bans, perhaps). I’m not sure I agree with all he said, but he certainly made a good case. It also inspired another Tom McMahon 4-Block World.

The Asian Blogger made the MSM forums with this look at Edwards and the sub-prime lenders.

Pete has a new name for the Marquette Interchange–the Spaghetti Bowl. Will it catch on?

Dad29, not a supporter of Wal-Mart, nonetheless thinks they are within the law in the case brought against them by the Wisconsin DOR.

Sancho from La Raza de Waukesha announces a new blog for those who feel they can only write part-time, etc. called Hobo Spring. Great idea!

Silent E Speaks speculates on The Fiction Channel.

Jim Bouman, who writes at Water Blogged in Waukesha and has an eye for catching mistakes, spelling and otherwise, takes the Journal Sentinel to task again. Aren’t they too easy a target?

James Wigderson attended the Waukesha Common Council meeting so that I could stay home and watch it on TV.

Jeff at Five Points Blog comments on James’ column in the Freeman.

Jessica McBride posts about poor Saul Arellano, 8 year old son of illegal immigrant Elvira Arellano. What a trama to put a kid through.

Fox Head dissects Tim Schilke’s column in last Wednesday’s Freeman.

Sen. Lazich warns about buying drugs online.

And there’s the group on New Berlin NOW. Whew! Read Ralph Huen, Matt Thomas or Linda Richter and you’ll get a taste.
