I saw this article from the LA Times yesterday. Then the Journal Sentinel blog Words to the Wise linked to it and the original Nature article.
A remote language I studied while I lived in Papua New Guinea changed while I lived there. Languages change unless they’re dead (Ancient Greek, Latin). English is no different.
It’s a fascinating study.
